The School of Sociology & Social Policy - Postgraduate Teaching Assistant Positions
The School of Sociology & Social Policy is seeking Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PGTAs) to support undergraduate modules in the autumn semester of 2025-26. Applications are open to all PGRs registered in the School, regardless of previous teaching experience.
Multiple part-time positions are available, each offering one day of work per week on a fixed-term basis from 1st September 2025 to 28th February 2026. The work involves supporting various modules, with details discussed during interviews.
Responsibilities include:
1. Facilitating two weekly seminar groups per work package.
2. Marking assessments at specified points.
3. Responding to student queries.
4. Meeting with module convenors to ensure consistent teaching and assessment.
5. Attending meetings as required.
Work is flexible over the contract duration, accommodating teaching delivery and marking deadlines.

Salary ranges from £31,637 to £35,116 per annum (pro-rata), depending on skills and experience. Salary progression is performance-based.
