We are seeking a part-time Dispenserto work a minimum of 25 hours per week (5 hours each day).
Dispensing qualifications aredesirable but not essential. However if the successful applicant does not holdthe requisite qualifications they will be required to complete the appropriateNVQ qualification within an appropriate timescale.
Working as part of a small team youwill dispense medications as directed, maintain accurate records and carry outadministrative procedures as necessary.
Main duties of the job
* Dispensing acute prescriptions.
* Dispensing repeat prescriptions requests delivered to the surgery by hand, request box, internet and from the outlying villages.
* Dispensing private prescriptions.
* Checking colleagues dispensing and whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labelling instructions to check with the patients doctor or duty doctor.
* Maintaining full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions.
* Ensure that Controlled Drugs are handled in accordance with legislative requirements.
* To take prompt action in response to any drug alert bulletins that may be received from time to time.
* Answer queries from doctors, face to face and by telephone about specific medication.
* Supervise Dispensary Receptionist and advise when required.
* To complete Dispensing Reviews of Use of Medicines with patients.
* Any other duties required to maintain the high standard and efficient dispensing service as directed by the Dispensary Manager.
* To participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.

Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* NVQ level 2 or above in dispensary services
Experience
* Working in a busy dispensary within a GP Practice or a pharmacy.
