GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Nottingham area from September 2025. As an SEND KS1 TA, this is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access the curriculum, develop key skills, and thrive in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities as a SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant: Support KS1 pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. Assist teachers with differentiated lesson delivery to meet individual learning needs. Encourage positive behaviour, social interaction, and independence. Implement personalised learning strategies and intervention programmes. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track progress and outcomes. Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Requirements for SEND KS1 Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children with SEND is highly desirable. Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with additional needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties). Excellent communication, patience, and empathy skills. Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
