Teacher of Physical Education – Full-Time, Long-Term
Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 per annum (MPS/UPS, depending on experience)

We are working alongside an energetic and community-focused secondary school in Borehamwood that places a strong emphasis on sport, wellbeing, and student engagement. The school is now looking to appoint an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from February 2026. This role would suit a motivated individual who is passionate about physical activity and enjoys inspiring young people to lead healthy, active lives.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting participation, teamwork, and personal development. You will also play an active role in the school’s extracurricular sports programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach engaging PE lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
* Plan and deliver a broad range of sporting and fitness activities
* Promote positive attitudes towards health, fitness, and wellbeing
* Support extracurricular clubs, competitions, and school fixtures
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
* Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds QTS (preferred, but not essential)
* Has experience teaching PE at secondary school level
* Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Possesses knowledge across a variety of sports and physical activities
* Shows genuine enthusiasm for sport, fitness, and student wellbeing
* Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply
