Main Duties of the Job
The role of GP with a special interest in Dermatology and Skin Cancer is to support our specialist service in Dermatology and Skin Cancer and provide the opportunity for professional development in dermatology under the supervision of secondary care consultants and specialist clinicians.
The post holder will see patients in the outpatient setting under the supervision of a consultant and alongside other specialist colleagues in the team.
The post holder will be given the support to complete the clinical experience required for the Diploma in Dermatology qualification, including but not limited to access to suitably trained Specialist Dermatologists.
There will also be the opportunity to develop surgical skills in minor skin surgery, working alongside suitably trained clinicians including but not limited to Specialist Plastic surgeons and Dermatologists.
The successful applicants would be part of the Dermatology and Skin Cancer team and could join clinics across the county to fit with the service needs and the circumstances of the post holder.
Remuneration will be on a sessional basis either directly with the successful applicants or through their GP practices or business if IR35 compliant. The rates will be appropriate for the level of experience and qualifications of the post holder.

Experience
* Clinical training and experience in Dermatology at junior level
* Ability to offer clinical opinion on range of problems within specialty
* Ability to take responsibility for clinical care of patients
* Ability to interpret clinical investigations
Desirable Experience
* Clinical experience of specialist dermatology clinics
Skills / Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance
* Experience of medical teaching
* Good IT skills
Desirable Skills
* Minor operating skin surgery skills / competence
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice at time of appointment
* GPVTS Trained or equivalent
* MB ChB or equivalent
* MRCGP
Desirable Qualifications
* Diploma in Dermatology or in progress
* Demonstrate continued professional development / self‑directed study with dermatology focus
