Newly created leadership position for a deputy to the CFO of a world leading engineering, technology and research organisation. This high-impact role leads the Finance function driving governance and compliance to support the organisations strategic goals. Acting as a critical partner to senior leaders, the remit will develop and drive high-level business strategies and change programmes – ultimately being a growth driver for the business.

This hybrid role includes a requirement to be office-based in South West London for three days each week.
Key Responsibilities:
· Functional leadership supporting the CFO in driving performance, operational effectiveness and value creation. Bringing insightful financial analysis and decision-making support to shape and execute business strategy.
· Acting as deputy CFO and strategic partner to senior leaders - supporting the growth agenda of the organisation, developing and driving high-level strategies and change programmes, and delivering solutions that will impact future business direction.
· Spearheading the finance aspects of structuring for major programmes, bids and commercial arrangements including M&A, spin outs, strategic partnerships and other growth opportunities. Oversight of the financial elements of contract negotiations and funding arrangements.
· Ensuring strong financial/legal governance is in place to safeguard assets and control/mitigate risk in the context of a complex funding landscape.
· Leading the Finance function – driving the evolution of finance processes, systems and capability.
· Strategic oversight and embedding of a new ERP system.
· Developing strategies for tax compliance and tax optimisation/efficiency in the context of growth and organisational agility.
· Inspirational leadership and performance management to ensure the organisation’s mission, strategy and plans are achieved with maximum impact.
Candidate Profile

· A dynamic leader who drives for results by empowering and cultivating high performing teams.
· Experience of leading across complex finance structures and contracting arrangements that support the delivery of large-scale programmes with multiple stakeholders.
· Proven ability to operate in an agile environment, adapting finance strategies to evolving business needs.
· Degree level education with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications.
