Description
We are looking for an experienced Lighting Director, with experience and enthusiasm for the skills listed below. The role will consist of multi-skilled lighting, vision control and remote camera operation in a live studio environment. The role will primarily entail shift working across the Good Morning Britain programme. There may also be opportunity in time to work across ITV News, Channel 4 News and Channel 5 News, with further opportunities to work on outside broadcast and special events coverage. Key Responsibilities
1. Live operation and programming of lighting consoles and remote-control camera systems
2. Technical line-up and vision control operation, and colour matching of studio cameras and in–vision sources
3. Adjust or modify previously established lighting plots to meet daily studio requirements
4. Day-to-day maintenance and rigging of studio lighting equipment.
5. Understand the needs and requirements of presenters and guests
6. Operate within ITN’s health and safety policy

7. Ability to operate under pressure in a live studio environment
8. Operationally competent of lighting consoles and the ability to programme them
9. A good appreciation of techniques for lighting for single and multi-camera situations both in studios and outside broadcast environments
10. Accurate assessment of picture quality and colour balance
11. A good sense of composition of camera shots
12. A wide knowledge of studio and broadcast engineering and of current and emerging lighting and camera technologies
13. Understanding of Shotoku robotic systems and how to operate them
14. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
15. This role will require shift work and out of hours work
