Reports to: Senior Risk Analyst & Trading and Risk Operations Manager
Location: Nottingham Head Office
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week
As a Junior Risk Analyst, you will be a part of an experienced Trading and Pricing team responsible for the purchasing of circa £300 million of gas and power for our circa 40,000 business customers. You will be responsible for supporting the trading team with analysis and reporting during a time of exceptional volatility in energy markets with a view of you becoming increasingly involved in strategy development as your career progresses. This is an exciting role within a fast paced and critical function of the business. What We Need from Yü
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing:
* Support the Trading team with detailed analysis and scenario modelling of wholesale price movements
* Development of models to predict customer demand including, but not limited to, growth modelling, predicting behavioural changes, weather adaptions and portfolio segmentation analysis
* Assist the Trading team in development of strategies to manage traded position and exposure
* Support the team on the day to day running of the trading desk
* Support the Pricing team in the development of pricing models and price forecasts
* Provide support across the Trading and Pricing teams to resolve operational queries
* Ad hoc support on reporting for internal and external purposes
About Yü

* A degree in Maths, science, economics or similar numerate discipline
* Highly numerate with an excellent attention to detail
* Proficient in Python, additional programming knowledge is beneficial.
* Strong computer proficiency and in particular Excel
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
* Self-motivated with an ability to work independently
