We are seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team in Ipswich. The role is primarily workshop-based but will also involve site visits to customer premises across East Anglia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of industrial equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities Repair, maintain and service: Fan Units, Gearboxes, Electric Motors, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Frequency Inverters, Pumps & Pressurisation Units Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs. Conduct both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance. Support site work at customer premises across East Anglia as required. Maintain accurate records of work completed. Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
Working Hours & Callout Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00
17:00. Callout Rota: 1 week in 7 on-call duty. £75 per week retainer. Callout work paid at 1.5x hourly rate. Callout work after 12:00 on Saturday paid at 2.0x hourly rate .
Requirements Proven experience in repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment. Strong knowledge of motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Comfortable working both independently in the workshop and on-site at customer premises. Full UK Driving Licence. Strong awareness of health & safety practices.
