Searcys are looking for an Assistant Events Manager to join the team at the Royal Institution.
As an Assistant Events Manager, you will support with the successful delivery of the Food & Beverage Events Operation.
Renowned as the home of scientific research and communication for more than 200 years, the Royal Institution is the proud home of 14 Nobel Prize winners as well as the discovery of 10 chemical elements. The Royal Institution's 400 tiered seating theatre is familiar to those who watch the RI Christmas Lectures, making it the perfect setting for conferences, lectures, and film screenings.

Key Responsibilities:
* Play an integral role in the successful delivery of events across the site.
* Work with the Senior Managers, Kitchen, and Events Operations team to plan, organise, and deliver a successful operation of our events.
* Ensure all events run as per the schedules laid out.
* Act as an allergy champion.
* Build positive working relationships & communication methods with key departments.
* Brief the Hospitality team on all aspects of the business and oversee the running of all assigned events.
* Meet clients and ensure their customer journey is flawless by greeting them on arrival and ensuring that the event meets their requirements. Communicate any changes/amendments on the day to the relevant people as necessary.
* Lead the supervisors, waiters, and colleagues.
* Develop coherent, accurate, and timely event reports as required.
* Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of the business regarding staff, stock, and equipment.
* Assist in the development of the operations waiting team, ensuring adherence to standards set out.
* Ensure compliance with all legislative and Government guidelines, including (but not exclusively) The Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations, GDPR, etc., within the areas of responsibility.
* Ensure the department/team complies with Searcys cash handling and cashing up procedures, reporting any discrepancies immediately to your line manager.
* Support with the recruitment and selection of staff.
* Deputise for the Senior Manager in their absence.
* Comply with all legal requirements regarding (but not exclusively) fire regulations, security, licence requirements, and any Local Authority or Client stipulations.
* Conduct staff meetings.
* Ensure a coherent handover is submitted for the events and any issues are escalated to the relevant head of department.
* Possess excellent product knowledge (food/beverage).
* Have experience in F&B operations.
* Maintain a positive demeanour and attitude to solve problems.
* Lead by example by acting professionally at all times.
* Take the initiative.
* Exhibit good time management.
* Be supportive and a team player.
