What You’ll Be Doing

* Build and calibrate 1D and 2D hydraulic models
* Assess and influence CSO activity and operation to meet sector targets
* Evaluate foul water flooding and wastewater network resilience
* Develop mitigation solutions and present options to clients
* Work with industry-standard modelling software, GIS, and coding tools
* Produce high-quality reports and visualisations
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the business


About The Role

We’re currently looking for a Graduate Wastewater Network Modeller to join our Water Utilities Division, a centre of excellence that supports colleagues across our global business. You’ll be part of a team tackling challenges such as climate change, ageing infrastructure, pollution incidents, CSO spills, and population growth by designing resilient wastewater networks and delivering major pipeline transfers and drainage systems that protect communities and the environment. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow technical and project management skills with support from senior modellers and collaboration across the UK-wide modelling team.


Candidate Specification

We are looking for committed and motivated graduates with a genuine passion to make a difference. To be eligible, you will have less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements) and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (obtained no earlier than 2024) or be expected to achieve one, in one of the following disciplines:

* Geography
* Hydrology and Water Management
* Water and Environmental Engineering
* Environmental Science
* Civil Engineering
* Mathematics

Demonstrate genuine interest in the opportunity and joining Mott MacDonald by highlighting relevant experience or interests, such as modules studied, former work experience, or projects related to our company, values and projects.


We Are Looking For Graduates With The Following Characteristics

* Methodical approach to problem solving
* Ability to use initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
* Excellent verbal communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
* Excellent written communication and attention to detail

We support flexible working and encourage you to discuss any flexibility needed at interview stage. We are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK, and we cannot accept applications from candidates who would be working under the Graduate visa route or other time-limited visas due to sponsorship requirements in the future. We welcome applications from candidates eligible for alternative immigration routes that do not require Skilled Worker sponsorship.
