The role
The Senior Manager, Data Ethics is responsible for the implementation of a data ethics framework in The Open University. Working closely with key University projects in the area of data innovation, you will develop an approach alongside these new developments to put a defined structure and methodology in place while also helping these projects to take an ethical approach. Drawing on work already done, you will ensure that the Data Ethics Policy is adopted and the draft process put in place, developing this as needed to accommodate the objectives of the wider projects and the working practices of the University.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Good knowledge and understanding of data ethics is essential. Experience of implementing data ethics in a large organization would be advantageous.
* Proven experience of implementing processes in accordance with policy in a large organisation, ideally with some experience of working in the area of data or technology innovation.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to build rapport with team members and stakeholders, and to clearly articulate data ethics requirements and benefits to stakeholders across the business.
* Able to build collaborative relationships with other areas of the university and to use these effectively to help others adopt an ethical approach.
* Good planning and organizational skills, able to demonstrate a structured and systematic approach, develop work plans and deliver according to agree timescales.
