We are seeking self-motivated individuals with an interest in the physiotherapy treatment of patients with neuro-disability. The ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and have relevant experience of working with people with disabilities. Logical problem solving skills and the ability to cope effectively and flexibly in difficult situations is essential. Good self-organisational and time management skills, together with an understanding of the purpose of rehabilitation are key requirements of the role.Working closely with Physiotherapy Therapy and wider Therapy team members, your role will involve assisting within allocated clinical activities and administrative tasks as directed. As a Technical Instructor you will be based on the Behavioural Services but have the opportunity to work across the different specialist areas of the RHN as required.

Main duties of the job
1. Be a full member of the MDT, maintaining a smallclinical caseload, as directed by the senior physiotherapist in the designatedclinical area.
2. Tocomplete individualised andgroup therapy programmes with the patients/residents as directed by the seniortherapists, inclusive of physiotherapy, occupational therapy speech andlanguage therapy, and psychology interventions (not exhaustive).
3. To assist the MDT in the implementationof behaviour management guidelines/plan for each of the patients/residents inthe clinical area. Be aware ofpotential behavioural changes that patients may present e.g. disinhibition,inappropriate social or sexual behaviour, impulsivity, irritability & angeroutbursts, apathy & anhedonia (inability to experience pleasure), cognitiveimpairments e.g. poor planning/organisation. Be able to complete ward documentation such as ABCcharts when behaviours that challenge are observed.
4.Toassist the physiotherapy department as student placement coordinator asdirected by the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist.
5. Strive to demonstrate proficientorganisational skills and time management in all areas of your work and beaccepting of support and feedback to promote personal, professional and servicewide development.
6.Demonstratean awareness of RHNs objectives and contribute to achieving themappropriately.

Job responsibilities
Thispost is located in Neuro-Behavioural Services constitutes a truly dynamictransdisciplinary member of the ward team, being involved in implementing allaspects of a residents person-centred care, including personal activities ofdaily living, multidisciplinary team (MDT) therapy programmes and leisureactivities. The post holder will work as part of a transdisciplinary team(TDT), as well as working alongside other physiotherapists in Continuing CareServices.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to a standard of literacy in English
* GCSE (or equivalent) in a broad range of subjects.
* Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care or equivalent
* A degree of physical fitness relevant to the needs of the role. Must be hands-on with patients/residents
Experience
* Previous experience working with people with complex disabilities.
* Previous experience working as a related AHP assistant or technical instructor
* Evidence of working with a range of MDT members and understanding of how the post contributes to the wider MDT working.
* Good organisational skills
* Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Competent Digital Skills
* Be able to understand the professional boundaries of the post and understand the need to work within your scope of practice
* Able to recognise and value the role of all disciplines within the multi-disciplinary team.
* Able to learn procedures and accept direction of activities by a supervisor.
* Pleasant, assertive and suited to working within a diverse population of people.
* A degree of physical fitness relevant to the needs of the role. Must be hands-on with patients/residents
