The Governing Body of Longleaze Primary School is looking to appoint Co-opted Governors.
More information about our wonderful School can be found at our website.
Governors play an important part in School life, and this is an opportunity for someone from the community to become involved with our school. Being a member of the governing body, does require time commitment. We hold 8 meetings across the academic year. You are also required to attend training and undertake school visits relevant to your areas of responsibility. While being a member of the governing body is a voluntary role, you will be able to claim for travel expenses if needed.
At this time the Governing Body is seeking someone who is not a parent; with particular interest in Teaching and Learning or Human Resources but other skills are always welcome to complement those already involved. There is no need for specific educational knowledge or background but the ability to offer a strategic view would be an advantage. Full training and support will be offered.
It is recognised that effective Governors can have a positive impact on both the school and local Community. If you are looking for a new and rewarding experience, we look forward to hearing from you.

Safeguarding Statement
Longleaze Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments will be subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check, and proof of the Right to Work in the UK (this will be required at the time of interview). As part of the recruitment process, in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) statutory guide, the school will carry out an online search as part of their safeguarding due diligence on shortlisted candidates. The online searches are part of a safeguarding check, and searches should be focused solely on whether the individual is suitable to work with children.
