Azure Cloud Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our growing Technology team in Guernsey and play a key role in delivering our digital transformation strategy. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform.
Working closely with support, data, and security teams, you will help ensure that our cloud environments are optimised for performance, resilience, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, deploy, and manage Azure-based infrastructure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
* Implement and maintain cloud networking, storage, identity, and access management.
* Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
* Monitor system performance, availability, and cost optimisation through Azure Monitor and related tooling.
* Ensure cloud environments align with security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO27001, GDPR).
* Support DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, AKS), and integration with development teams.
* Troubleshoot complex issues across networking, compute, and security layers.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer (Azure focus) or in a similar infrastructure/cloud role.
* Strong knowledge of Azure services including:
* Compute: Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, AKS.
* Networking: Virtual Networks, Application Gateways, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway.
* Storage & Databases: Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB.
* Identity & Access: Azure Active Directory, RBAC, Conditional Access.
* Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
* Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
* Understanding of DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
* Strong grasp of cloud security principles and frameworks.
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable
* Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services).
* Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and on-premises integration.
* Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.

Pay: £70,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
