They are currently on the lookout for an experienced, capable Principal Hydraulic Modeller who is willing to take on a challenging array of projects across a variety of sectors, based in the vibrant, historic city of Exeter. Benefits for the role of Principal Hydraulic Modeller include (but are not limited to): Highly-competitive salary (commensurate with skills and experience) Generous annual leave entitlement Possibility of hybrid/flexible working opportunities Access to a range of interesting projects across the region An inclusive, collaborative working environment Opportunities to proactively shape the company's development trajectory Responsibilities for the role of Principal Hydraulic Modeller include: Oversee and manage a team of high-performing professionals in the delivery of a variety of projects Managing and auditing colleagues' projects and productivity rates Producing hydraulic models, as well as supervising, checking, and verifying other colleagues' models and surveys Analysing and interpreting data, using a variety of software systems, and preparing/checking/publishing reports Supervising generation of plans utilising MapInfo Managing client and stakeholder relations Representing the company at various site visits and other meetings Flexibly managing a varied selection of projects Managing costs, resources, and project delivery Adhering to and enforcing industry standards, regulations, and health and safety protocols at all times Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydraulic Modeller include: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a similar, relevant field Extensive experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK consultancy (or Local Authority) setting Experience of wastewater modelling Outstanding proficiency in InfoWorks ICM (1D and 2D), and other relevant software packages Demonstrable experience of having managed both people and projects Experience of managing client/stakeholder relations Full, valid UK driving licence Chartered Status/membership of an appropriate, recognised professional body Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Hydraulic Modeller include: Good knowledge of the local area and surrounding region Excellent working knowledge of a range of other software systems used within the flood risk, drainage, and hydrology sectors If you are interested in the role of Principal Hydraulic Modeller, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Davis at Penguin Recruitment.
