Summary This role involves leading and managing a social work team dedicated to providing essential services to vulnerable children and their families, ensuring their safety and well-being. The position requires delivering operational leadership and driving service improvements within children's social work. The role also involves actively contributing to strategic developments for children and families in Dudley. The position oversees Social Workers, ASYE’s, Trainee Social Workers, and Young Person’s Advisors. Responsibilities Oversee the delivery of services to children, young people, their families, and carers, ensuring compliance with legislation, guidance, and local policies. Make complex decisions regarding social service provisions for children and families within Dudley. Manage work allocation according to priorities, ensuring timely implementation of assessments, care plans, and reviews. Collaborate with partner agencies, both within the children's division and the voluntary sector, to ensure comprehensive multi-agency assessment, planning, intervention, and review. Negotiate service provisions with voluntary and external agencies to support service delivery to children, young people, their families, and carers. Participate in the management of services as a member of the Children’s Services Management Team. Requirements Requirements: Proven leadership and management experience in social work. Strong understanding of legislation, guidance, and local policies related to children’s social services. Ability to make complex decisions and manage work priorities effectively.
