Job Title: Structural Design Engineer (Contract)
Salary: £42p/h - £44p/h (Outside IR35)
Location: Surrey
We’re working with a long-standing and well-regarded civil and structural consultancy that’s currently looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing team in Crawley.
Their project portfolio spans residential developments, airport infrastructure, commercial spaces, retail, and surveying work. If you’re looking to join a close-knit team that values strong engineering principles and client service, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
This role would suit an experienced engineer who’s ready to lead technical delivery and help shape the direction of projects from day one. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team of civil and structural engineers, supporting new and ongoing projects across the South East and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the structural design of buildings and infrastructure in concrete, steel, timber, and masonry
* Coordinate with clients, contractors, and fellow consultants to deliver practical and cost-effective designs
* Oversee projects from early concept through to construction stage
* Contribute to structural inspections and surveys, providing expert advice and reporting
* Support and mentor junior team members
* Ensure all work complies with current standards and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
* Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Chartered or working toward chartership (MICE or MIStructE)
* Solid UK experience in the structural design of buildings and infrastructure
* Strong skills in analysis and design software (e.g. Tekla, TEDDS, AutoCAD)
* Practical mindset with a focus on real-world, buildable engineering
* Confident communicator with a team-oriented approach
