Job Description:

NHS Scotland is committed to promoting equality and diversity within its workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. We welcome applications from all sections of society and support disabled candidates, including those with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent, by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment practices.

The successful candidate will undertake the role of an Advanced Occupational Therapist (AOTP) within Emergency Medicine, working in inpatient and outreach settings. The role involves high levels of autonomous decision-making and clinical judgment, ensuring patient needs are met through diagnosis and management of complex conditions, including assessment, treatment, and review planning in collaboration with patients and families.
The AOTP will provide highly specialized advice to healthcare professionals, agencies, carers, clients, and families within Emergency Medicine. The role encompasses clinical leadership, education, and team development to enhance practice, implement evidence-based standards, and contribute to quality improvement and research activities.
