Overview
Painter & Decorator at HC-One. You will undertake painting and decorating duties to present the homes to the highest standards, helping HC-One to become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will maintain a clean, safe and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. You will be responsive and flexible as the needs of the Homes change. This full-time role covers multiple care homes and requires driving; a shared company vehicle is provided.
Responsibilities
* Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, Colleague, self or another.
* You must understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
* Undertake general painting and decorating in all parts of the Care Home as required, including but not limited to making good any damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, painting of walls, ceilings and fixtures and fittings.
* Promote safe working practices in the care home, and ensure all equipment used is clean and well maintained; understand and implement the care home’s health and safety policy and emergency and fire procedures.
* Complete mandatory and specialist training related to your role, on or off site as required to maintain, update professional knowledge and competence.
* Engage and communicate effectively with Residents, the Home Manager and other colleagues; undertake general painting and decorating in all parts of the Care Home as required, including making good any damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, painting of walls, ceilings and fixtures and fittings.
* Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: recognise signs of abuse, harm or neglect, attend safeguarding training appropriate to your role, and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
