(waking night 9am to 4am sleep in 4am to 8am)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to individuals, particularly children, in their daily activities. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care, ensuring their needs are met with empathy and professionalism.

Your key responsibilities as a Waking Nights Support worker will include:
* Ensure the safety and security of the residential home during night hours.
* Provide emotional support and reassurance to children and young people.
* Attend to the individual needs of each child, including responding to night-time disturbances.
* Conduct regular checks on the children, ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Assist with bedtime routines and morning preparations as needed.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of the night's events.
* Collaborate with daytime staff to ensure continuity of care.
* Follow all safeguarding procedures and protocols.

Skills
* Previous experience in a similar role or in working with children and young people preferred
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
* Ability to stay awake and alert throughout the night shift
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
* Relevant qualifications in childcare or social care (desirable)
