Purpose:
The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the new and challenging role of a Scaffold Design Engineer on site at Bridgewater, Somerset.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as the scaffold design engineer for the MEHA scope of works at Hinkley Point C nuclear new build power station.
2. Ensure all Designs are developed and adhered to during the erection of Temporary Works.
3. Produce drawings using the latest AutoCAD and other Autodesk software.
4. Create detailed engineering calculations in accordance with the relevant British and European standards using structural analysis software where required.
5. Produce all relevant documentation in adherence with company and MEHJV procedures along with CDM regulations.
6. Liaise with partner Design management, MEHJV partners, operational supervisors and client representatives to ensure optimum solutions are reached.
7. Provide guidance, advice and technical support where applicable.
8. Check designs in accordance with BS5975.
9. Uphold the HPC way and HPC site best practices at all times.
Key Requirements:
1. HNC, HND or Degree in civil, mechanical or structural engineering.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in the design of scaffolding structures.
3. Problem solver, organised, ability to prioritise and deliver within a high-paced environment.
4. I.T. literate and fully proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. A working knowledge of structural analysis software would be a distinct advantage.
5. Commitment, drive and the ability to work on one’s own initiative.
