Job Title: Senior Finance Accountant
Location: Oxford district, United Kingdom
Department / Team: Finance
Reports To: Assistant Director, F&TP
Principal duties and responsibilities:
1. Maintenance and review of fixed assets’ registers
2. Maintenance of nominal ledger and all supporting spreadsheets/workings
3. Updating FX rates and Bank reconciliation on Cash Manager
4. Reviewing Bought Ledger and Cashbook reports
5. Production of client money reconciliations
6. Production of monthly management accounts
7. Production of the Bii (monthly Income Report)
8. Assistance in calculating corporate tax
9. Production of VAT return
10. Preparation of regulatory returns for the Group’s subsidiary companies (e.g., FCA’s RMAR, Resilience report)
11. Assist in devising, implementing, and reviewing internal controls related to financial matters
12. Assist in preparing the Group’s year-end financial statements and interim profit verification, including technical review of accounting consolidation
13. Preparation of the Group’s annual budget
14. Production of annual 1099 forms for the US entity regarding their Suppliers payments
15. Calculation and proposal of FX trading activity and investment of surplus funds
16. Review UK entities P11D’s and ensure timely payment and submission of forms
17. Maintain relationships with external counterparties (banks, consultants, etc.)
18. Perform ad hoc duties as required
Skills and competencies:
* Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA, with at least 2 years post-qualification experience
* Ideally from an insurance/broking background
* Experience in both practice and industry
* Proven senior management interaction experience
* Ability to use initiative to handle multiple challenges
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks effectively
* Strong determination to meet deadlines
* High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
* Adaptability to change and pressure
* Familiarity with the CASS (Client Money) rulebook, specifically chapter 5 (highly desirable)
