Overview
Bank Occupational Therapist – Surrey role at HCRG Care Group. Band 5 Occupational Therapist in the Children’s Community Health Team, providing high‑quality Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children, empowering them and their families to achieve their full potential. Based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs with hybrid working options.
Responsibilities
* Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
* Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
* Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
* Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
* Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
* Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.

Ideal Candidate
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of postgraduate training or equivalent experience relevant to paediatric practice, such as child development, specialist courses on conditions affecting child development, autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Demonstrable post‑registration experience of working with children in paediatric practice.
* Experience using a range of assessments and treatment methods.
Desirable
* Member of BAOT.
* Membership of Special Interest Group.
* Clinical Educator qualification.
* Experience working in a community setting delivering children’s Occupational Therapy services.
