As Shop Supervisor you will use your retail experience to drive business, push sales, and achieve targets. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality customer service to donors and customers and for managing a volunteer team that supports the shop’s operations.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
* Collaborate with the local community to generate donated stock to drive sales.
* Recruit, train, and retain a volunteer team, providing clear leadership and guidance.
* Set and maintain high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, ensuring health and safety are priorities.
* Implement effective stock processes so the shop is always well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
* Act as a brand ambassador for Sue Ryder, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
* Manage the Epos operation and associated stock processes.
Qualifications
* Customer Service Experience
* Previous supervisory Experience
* Cash handling / till work proficiency
* Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls)
* Strong organisational skills
* Experience working alone in a retail environment
* Commercial awareness to deliver sales
* Positive attitude, good judgement, and a can‑do mindset
Desirable Criteria
* High street, leisure or hospitality retail background
* Experience with KPIs and target setting
* Charity retail experience
* Health & Safety knowledge
* Team player attitude
* Key holder or experience with opening/closing duties
* Merchandising / stock rotation skills
