Advert Practice Educator – NHS Grampian Mental Health and Learning Disability Practice Education and Development Team
37 hours – Band 7: 1 Post. Base: Royal Cornhill Hospital (MH/LD Post).
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Practice Educator (PE) to cover the Mental Health/Learning Disability Portfolio within the MHLD Practice Education and Development Team. The team operates across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray, supporting all mental health and learning disability teams. The PE will also liaise with Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen University and the North of Scotland Colleges.
Responsibilities
* Provide practice education support to students, learners and staff across the portfolio.
* Develop and maintain a learning environment that promotes education and lifelong learning.
* Enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and contribute to the future nursing workforce in line with local and national directives.
* Supervise undergraduate nurses and lead in practice improvement initiatives.
* Present at national conferences and promote NHS Grampian as a learning environment.
Qualifications
* Registered mental health or learning disability nurse, 1st level, with Band 6 experience.
* Significant knowledge and experience in mental health and learning disability nursing.
* Evidence of leadership skills and experience supporting others in practice.
* Strong communication, teamwork and a sense of humour.
* Great enthusiasm to work, learn and develop within a high‑pressure environment.
* Degree level education (or equivalent) and a nationally recognised teaching qualification.
* Valid UK driving licence and car ownership (travel across Grampian).

* Proven interest in training, education and professional development for all staff.
* Ability to engage in courageous conversations and demonstrate influencing skills.
