A welcoming and inclusive school in Northwich is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately on a long-term, ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, resilient, and committed to supporting children with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to help pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
* Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Help create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Monitor student progress and report back to teachers and SENCO.
* Support pupils’ emotional, social, and personal development.
* Promote inclusion and encourage independence in learning and behaviour.
* Liaise with parents and carers when appropriate.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
* A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach.
* Good communication and team-working skills.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
