Join to apply for the Senior Staff Nurse (BAND 6) – GHOPD role at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a part‑time, permanent position with no night shifts or weekends. The role is based in the Private Patient Outpatient and Supportive Infusion Unit at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea.
Required: First‑level registered nurse with demonstrable oncology experience and proficiency in IV medication and chemotherapy administration. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture skills are desirable; full training will be provided. Excellent communication skills, reliability, enthusiasm and teamwork are essential.
* Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑led care.
* Exercise clinical judgment and decision‑making regarding patient needs and long‑term goals.
* Participate fully in the day‑to‑day organisation and running of clinical trials, including recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants and liaison with trial sponsors.
* Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
* Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff.
* Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
* Be aware of hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health‑care professionals to ensure their observance.
* Help foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale.
The post holder will assist the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse in the management of the clinical environment and in shift management. At the Senior Staff Nurse level, the post holder is responsible for the development and management of a team of employees under the supervision of the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse.
