Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Supervisor, Operations Management in Norfolk, VA. The Supervisor, Operations Management will support the Circuit Breaker Depot. The Supervisor will execute daily operations including the evaluation, repair, overhaul and test of surface and subsurface military circuit breakers and various electronic equipment in support of the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. This position will provide direct supervision to the breaker technicians. The Supervisor ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with quality, technical, and contractual requirements.
Essential Functions:
* Provide direct supervision and leadership to breaker technicians, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work.
* Maintain a strong shop-floor presence to support technicians, resolve issues in real time, and ensure work is executed to standard.
* Plan, assign, and prioritize daily work to meet production schedules, throughput targets, and customer delivery commitments.
* Ensure all work complies with applicable technical manuals, Product Assurance Procedures (PAPs), test documents, and quality requirements.
* Interpret and apply technical manuals, work instructions, drawings, and quality requirements.
* Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Program Management to resolve technical, material, or schedule issues.
* Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) including throughput, on-time delivery, and quality metrics.
* Identify training needs, contribute to the development of work instructions, Job Hazard Assessments (JHA), support technician development, provide coaching and performance feedback.
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation, routing steps, and system transactions.
* Exercise authority to assign work, manage priorities, manage employee timecards, and recommend corrective or disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
* At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory responsibility with the proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive accountability.
* Experience with defense related products and technologies.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Experience in electrical manufacturing, repair, or testing environments.
Experience serving in the US Navy as ETN or EMN
* Experience working within ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
* Prior experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
* Familiarity with IPC-J-Std-001, IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620
* Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a regulated manufacturing environment.
