OpenShift Engineer
Location: Glasgow (hybrid working)
Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an OpenShift Engineer/Developer to support a key financial trading platform. This role focuses on containerised microservices, DevOps practices, and database management, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across financial systems.
This role would be a great fit for a candidate early on in their career, ideally with a degree in a related computer science/IT field, who has gained a 3-4 years experience working with OpenShift/Kubernetes and would be keen to specialise their knowledge in the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications on OpenShift to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Implement and optimise Oracle PL/SQL for database development and integration, handling large-scale financial datasets efficiently.
* Develop and improve software solutions using a range of programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements and solution strategies.
* Promote best practices in secure coding, mitigating vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Participate in code reviews, advocate for code quality, and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
* Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure software reliability and maintainability.
