Morva Recruitment are excited to be supporting a growing building services consultancy who are seeking an experienced M&E Design Manager to lead their small but ambitious design team. With a healthy pipeline of projects secured well into 2026 across multiple sectors – including healthcare, nuclear, rail, industrial, commercial and residential – this is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the business as it continues its rapid growth.
We are looking for a well-rounded leader with strong experience in both mechanical and electrical building services. You will combine technical expertise with the ability to manage people, projects, clients, and quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Leading, managing, and mentoring a small M&E design team
*
Overseeing the production of mechanical and electrical design outputs across multiple projects
*
Ensuring compliance with UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and British Standards
*
Driving quality, risk management, and client-focused delivery
*
Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other consultants to deliver integrated solutions
*
Supporting business growth by developing processes, workflows, and team capability
What We’re Looking For
*
Significant experience in M&E building services design, ideally across a wide range of sectors
*
Strong leadership and team management skills
*
Excellent understanding of UK regulations, risk management, and quality assurance
*
Ability to interpret and review both mechanical and electrical design work
*
Strong communication and client-facing ability
*
Must be able to work from the office full time (with hybrid and flexible working provided)
*
No sponsorship available – applicants must have the right to work in the UK
Desirable: MOD/MOJ project experience, familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Dialux, or other industry-standard software.
