PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER - INSIDE IR35 - £30 PER HOUR - 12 MONTHS - VERY LIKELY EXTENSION - BOLTON - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
A leading defence engineering organisation is seeking a Project Support Officer to support Manufacturing project teams in the delivery of complex products and associated test equipment across the full product lifecycle.
This role supports senior Manufacturing and Production Project Managers across multiple projects and sites and provides an excellent entry point into a structured project management environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and regularly report project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
* Act as an internal interface within Manufacturing to support programme delivery, cost, and quality objectives
* Prepare, analyse, and present project information at internal reviews and meetings
* Support risk and opportunity management activities
* Assist with Manufacturing estimates and Cost at Completion (CAC) activities
* Support workload forecasting and capacity analysis
* Compile and maintain project schedules and programmes
* Maintain effective interfaces with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
* Support projects across multiple sites; some travel will be required
Essential Requirements
* Pro‑active, organised individual able to manage day‑to‑day priorities and tactical decisions
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present clear, accurate information
* Numerate and confident working with basic mathematical data
* Experience applying project management principles at an assistant or support level
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and planning tools
* Experience using ERP or materials management systems (e.g. SAP or similar)
Desirable
* Experience using project planning tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent
* Background in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Defence environments
