THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, hands‑on Procurement Manager to join a fast‑paced, super‑reactive team. In this role you will support the business with the effective sourcing and management of external suppliers across all categories of indirect goods and services for the Debenhams Group. The focus will be on achieving best value for money, meeting financial budgets and savings targets, driving innovation and continuous improvement, and minimising risk across all spend areas. This role is primarily based in Manchester 5 days per week, with occasional travel to other sites as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
* Relationship management of key suppliers to ensure consistently high service levels are achieved and to drive continuous improvement and minimise risk - ensuring relationships are not purely transactional (e.g. QBRs, in‑person meetings when relevant).
* Build excellent relationships with internal budget holders and stakeholders, ensuring projects are well defined and business cases are fully approved prior to sourcing activity, particularly before C‑suite sign‑off.
* Work with the Head of Procurement and internal stakeholders to formulate and implement category strategy plans to support cost reviews across multiple business areas.
* Manage commercial relationships with new and incumbent suppliers to ensure contracts and arrangements are competitively priced, legally robust and that service levels are established, monitored and exceeded.
* Support the Head of Procurement in formal sourcing and contract review processes, including in‑contract commercial and contract negotiations across the category or categories.
* Regularly research alternative suppliers and wider markets to drive best practice into our services.
* Prepare monthly reports and updates for the Head of Procurement for presentation to the Board and internal directors.

* Procurement qualification (CIPS or degree level).
