Joining the Reward Employment Tax team at EY presents opportunities to foster client relationships and manage our services. EY aims to expand PAS and achieve its goals, and we’re looking to welcome an Employment Tax Senior Manager to lead the development of business in Yorkshire & the North-East of England. Key responsibilities Responsible for Employment Tax business development in Yorkshire & the North-East of England (YNE) and client pursuit through proposals and presentations to potential clients
Support and development of junior team members and help grow the Employment Tax business in YNE
Deliver employment tax compliance and advice to clients across a broad range of industry sectors
Maintain up-to-date technical and functional skills and share expertise with others
Manage technically complex consulting projects with technical excellence and practical, business-driven approaches
Win and sustain client confidence and build opportunities to capture new business
Recognise and manage potential issues during client assignments
Structure and manage projects or programmes that meet client expectations and mitigate risks
About you Experience of employment tax gained in consultancy, legal firm and/or large global corporate
Strong personal impact and resilience; able to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels
Working knowledge of key employment tax issues including: Expenses and Benefits (PSAs and P11Ds); Employment Status (IR35 and self-employed); Payroll (PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, audits); Construction Industry Scheme; Termination Payments; Pensions; National Minimum Wage; Dealing with HMRC, audits, disclosure; SAO and CCO; Understanding of equity plans
Business development skills and ability to identify and convert opportunities
Proven track record in project management and delivery
Change-oriented with a flexible approach; professional with credibility and expertise
Practical problem-solving with clear, actionable guidance
Ability to analyse complex problems and deliver sustainable solutions
Focus on achieving project objectives and delivering high-quality outputs
Ability to delegate and mentor team members and foster collaboration
Provide timely feedback and seek feedback in return
ATT and/or CTA qualifications are desirable
