Production Security Coordinator - Expression of Interest
We are seeking experienced Production Security Coordinators to join our growing pool of professionals, supporting our slate of UK and EMEA based film and episodic productions.
Our Production Security and Content Protection teams provide oversight, assistance and response for production needs worldwide including talent security, production security, set location and off-site remote location security, investigative support, travel security and alert monitoring.
In an emergency, the Production Security Coordinator will respond, oversee and direct the production team. They contribute support by providing operational capabilities and policy or procedural recommendations in the performance of essential services, liaising with third party security vendors, law enforcement and emergency services, and in the formulation and dissemination of security related plans. Further, they operate as the central communication point for security related incidents for all production related activity and locations.
The Production Security Coordinator will oversee the safety and security of an active production. They are responsible for communicating to crew at all levels, talent and production executives, exercising discretion and assertion when issues arise.
It is important to understand the overall objectives of a production and balance them alongside any security objectives. The Production Security Coordinator is responsible for managing the security planning to facilitate the needs and requirements of the production, minimising risk where possible. They are the on the ground advisors to the production leadership for identifying and mitigating security risks.
Successful candidates who meet the required criteria may be recommended to productions as freelance Production Security Coordinators.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Head up the Security department on your assigned production.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with key production contacts (e.g. Production Supervisor, Production Coordinators and other Department heads). You will regularly contribute in meetings.
3. Collaborate with the production to develop security plans and policies to mitigate identified risks, to include ongoing assessment and improvement of plans in alignment with Disney and industry production security standards.
4. Evaluation of production locations including film locations, stages, sets, workshops and offices to establish risk profile. Subsequently develop risk-based mitigation measures to be implemented in security planning.
5. Maintain awareness and track uncontrollable risks that could impact a given production (such as severe weather, social unrest, crime etc)
6. Provide daily briefings and reminders to crew enforcing security compliance
7. Ongoing management of security planning in collaboration with the Locations department and security vendor to ensure adequate staffing numbers and quality personnel.
8. Connect with local authorities and make sure that all plans and procedures comply with local rules and regulations
9. Support the safety and security of the cast, crew, members of staff and intellectual property.
10. Social media research for any relevant information referencing the cast or the production
11. Report any building, location or stage security issues for proactive reconciliation
12. Proactively monitor and review the production schedule for any changes that will result in adjustments or additional security considerations (e.g. offsite sound recordings, locations, production weekend working or studio-based requirements)
13. Communicate with the Global Security Production Manager on a weekly basis with any updates or concerns
What You’ll Bring:
14. Proven experience in private sector security, law enforcement, military or production environments, including management experience of both direct and indirect reports and/or vendors.
15. Demonstrative ability to work independently while managing multiple projects, exercising good judgment to solve unexpected situations in a timely manner. You demonstrate resiliency, sound judgement and tact in dealing with business and corporate challenges
16. Strong operational capability with experience executing operational contingency plans based on threats and exposure to production talent, crew, assets, locations and company brand.
17. Working knowledge of physical security systems to include, but not limited to intrusion detection systems, CCTV, alarm monitoring systems, communications devices and other security related hardware and software
18. Working knowledge of production security as required to conduct investigations, assessments and provide recommendations and/or implement the security measures needed to protect talent, production locations, facilities and intellectual property.
19. Attention to accuracy as well as the ability to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines, and prioritise according to business needs.
20. Maintain a valid divers license and guard licence (if/where required by local law).
21. First Aid, CPR and AED Certification is preferable
22. Strong cross-group collaboration and relationship management skills including directing and coordinating third party vendors and partners to achieve deliverables
23. Experience conducting security advances, on the ground production security support and developing risk assessments
24. CP license is preferred.
