About us

Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.

About the role

As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll act as a professional advocate for high-quality practice, working with adults and their families to deliver meaningful, outcome-focused support.

You’ll:

9. Complete strengths-based assessments and reviews
10. Promote independence and community-based solutions
11. Manage a complex caseload with increasing autonomy
12. Work in line with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding procedures
13. Collaborate with health, housing and community partners
14. Contribute to OT triage, assessment clinics and service development
15. Operate across Occupational Therapy triage and community settings, completing assessments and delivering interventions including equipment provision, moving and handling, minor and major adaptations.

You’ll also play a key role in modelling best practice, professional values and person-centred care across Adult Social Care.

Mobile:

A ‘mobile’ role gives you the flexibility to schedule your own diary, so you can meet with colleagues and clients in a variety of locations. You’ll access digital folders and resources on your laptop and be able to use the network wherever you are based. Working from home will be common, as well as meeting your team in the office where necessary.

About you

You’ll be:

16. A qualified Occupational Therapist (degree or equivalent)
17. HCPC registered
18. Experienced in statutory adult services
19. Confident using strengths-based and outcomes-focused approaches
20. Reflective, adaptable and committed to continuous professional development
21. Able to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
