Maths Teacher – Secondary School

Pay: £140–£240 per day*
We are working with a welcoming secondary school in Darlington seeking to appoint a dedicated Maths Teacher from September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, support students of varying abilities, and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback to students and parents/carers.
* Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching resources.
* Maintain a safe, supportive, and well-managed classroom.
* Identify learning needs and provide targeted support where required.
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies.
Essential Qualifications
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
* Experience teaching GCSE Maths in a secondary school.
Experience & Skills
* Experience teaching Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4.
* Strong lesson planning, assessment, and classroom management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Maths curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
