JOB: Junior Mechanical Engineer
LOCATION: Oldham
TERM: Permanent
SALARY: GBP 25,000 - GBP 35,000, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking to take on a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Oldham on a permanent basis.
The Junior Mechanical Engineer Role
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* Degree / HND / HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
* Technical knowledge with the ability to read engineering drawings
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials: sheet metal, plastics, injection moulding, machining, assembly etc.
* Proficiency with 3D CAD software: ideally SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD etc.
* Knowledge of tender process would be beneficial
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Excellent customer service skills
* Confident and driven for career progression
Role Responsibilities
The Junior Mechanical Engineer Role Will Involve:
* Excellent opportunities for training and development, with room to progress within the company
* Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
* Producing technical drawings
* Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
* Dealing with customers on a technical level
* Investigating new product lines and areas within which the company can expand
* Supporting technical delivery of the company's products and services
* Working on continuous improvement projects
