The Materials & Processes Laboratory team based in Gloucester provides Materials & Process expertise on a wide variety of subjects and supports a broad range of internal customers. As well as supporting activities at a site level, the Gloucester Laboratory team work closely with other Materials & Processes Laboratories within Safran Landing Systems worldwide. This role will require involvement in a broad range of laboratory duties with a focus on forensic investigation of landing gear parts. There will be scope to expand the range of activities to include supplier quality monitoring, support to special processes, mechanical testing and supporting R&T activity. Key Responsibilities: Lead forensic investigation of landing gear parts Involvement in laboratory tasks relating to raw material suppliers, forgers and foundries Support special process departments, including surface treatments and non-destructive testing Undertake a variety of mechanical tests to support supplier developments, R&T and to resolve production issues Contribute to department and company improvements Undertake reviews of procedures and participate in the development of materials and process specifications Support the team with HSE initiatives Deliver internal materials and processes training
