Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable, making a positive difference each day in the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same, but the core of the role is to support individuals who require assistance to achieve their goals and outcomes.
Each person we support has different support requirements. As a Support Worker you may be required to assist with personal care, moving and handling, or provide positive behavioural support, while also expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual, and Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure safety, wellbeing and aspiring goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist individuals with personal care tasks.
* Support moving and handling procedures.
* Provide positive behavioural support.
* Help expand social networks and connections.
* Work collaboratively with the team to meet safety and wellbeing goals.
* Support the individual to achieve personal support plan goals and outcomes.
Qualifications
* Ability to adapt communication style to develop successful relationships with people supported.
* Commitment to work with individuals through their personal support plans to ensure people achieve their goals and celebrate successes.
* Positive and flexible outlook to work, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Transferable skills and values valued; experience in care not essential.
