GSL Education are currently looking for enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Barnsley (S70). Whether you’re interested in daily supply, part-time hours, or a longer-term post, this role provides excellent flexibility and variety.
Key Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher.
* Deliver pre-set work and maintain focus and engagement throughout the lesson.
* Manage classroom behaviour and uphold school expectations.
* Report back to teaching staff on student progress and conduct.
* Provide support to students where necessary to aid their learning.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
* Experience working with young people in an educational, sports, or youth setting is desirable.
* Strong classroom presence and confident communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm and assertive under pressure.
* Flexibility and willingness to work across different subjects and year groups.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
