Job overview

The Cardiology department within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to come and work within the Cardiac Physiology service as a Cardiographer.

The successful candidate will preferably have experience working in a healthcare setting, including experience of performing ECGs, however training will be given for the right candidate. Applicants must have at least 5 GCSE’s of grade C or above.

Candidates must have good communication and people skills with proven experience of working with the general public and the ability and personality to undertake clinical work in all areas of the main hospitals.

First Aid experience is desirable.

The ability to travel to all three main sites of the trust is a prerequisite, along with the ability to work during school holidays.

Main duties of the job

1. Performing 12 lead ECGs
2. Providing an ambulatory monitoring service for ECG and Blood Pressure for patients both in house and remotely (via the post) as required.
3. Will involve communication with the patient both face to face and over the phone.
4. Sole responsibility for acquisition of complex clinical information and applying theory to deliver an accurate test, including the basic interpretation and recording of information you personally acquire and technical problem solving.
5. Obtain relevant clinical information by reading request forms in order to proactively tailor the study for each individual patient.
6. Produce an accurate recording for each test, with responsibility for your own caseload.
7. Ensure that personal knowledge base is current to reflect change in clinical electrocardiography.

Essential criteria

8. Experience working with the general public
