Job Description
Sparta Global are hiring a Test Engineer to join a growing platform team, working across both manual and automated testing.
This is an initial 6-month fixed-term-contract, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Hove.
Overview:
* This is a hands-on role with a clear shift towards Java-based automation, offering strong progression opportunities as the team scales.
* You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of platform upgrades, working within Agile delivery cycles to build and maintain effective test coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, execute and maintain both manual and automated test cases
* Contribute to the development of Java-based test automation frameworks
* Support testing for platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and high quality releases
* Work closely with developers, product teams and other QA engineers within Agile sprint cycles
* Identify defects, track issues and support resolution through to completion
* Continuously improve QA processes, tooling and test coverage
Required Skills & Experience:
* Experience in both manual and automation testing
* Strong interest or experience in Java-based test automation
* Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery environments
* Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
* Experience using IDEs such as IntelliJ
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Experience with Sonata testing tools
* Experience contributing to or building automation frameworks
* Exposure to platform or system upgrade testing
