Your Role
Due to increased workload in the UK and Europe, Gensler’s Birmingham Studio is seeking a Technologistto join our team. You will be a Revit genius who willbe responsible forinitiatingthe technical solutions to best meet the client and design briefs. You will be experienced in handling the technical process, with excellent communication and team relationship skills, and the ability to understand and interpret client, designer and contractor’s needs and requirements.
What You Will Do
1. As a Technologist,you will tap into your boundless creativity to design unique professional environments, providing technical support for completion and execution of projects, working on all project stages.
2. Design and deliver architecture projects with a focus on retail, cities, workplace and data centre design and delivery
3. Operate across multiple projects simultaneously working in diverse teams to deliver major projects for global cloud service providers
4. Work with our wider offices and consultancy team to develop innovative technical design solutions
5. Initiate the technical solutions which best meet theclientsbrief
6. Support the team in detailed technical development of design and technical input during the preparation and execution of construction documents and on site
7. Support the team in collaboration with the Design Manager and Designer colleagues
8. Help with the technical aspects of the project team and over see’s all phases
9. Manage the design team towards a cohesive and rational technical solution which conforms to the project brief and is technically,legallyand financially responsible
10. Prepare plans, elevations,detailsand sections of detailed construction drawings from measured and point cloud surveys and from photographs, by hand and on computer
11. Assistwith the coordination ofConsultantson a mixture of new built as well as refurbishment projects
12. Interfacing with engineers, specialist consultants,manufacturersand cost consultants asrequired, including use of Navisworks
Your Qualifications
13. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology or equivalent, with demonstrable experience in design, detailing and/or construction practice
14. Expert knowledge of and proven practical background in Autodesk Revit and related BIM software
15. Experience in the design and delivery of industrial architecture projects is essential, experience in data centre design and delivery an advantage.
16. You will have extensive knowledge of construction techniques and be capable of working across multiple projects
17. Capable of working in Revit environment to BIM Level 2 standards
18. Must be willing to travel to sites across UK and Europe
19. Articulate,passionateand persuasive communicator able to convey BIM concepts to all levels of design and delivery professionals and clients
20. Team player with leadership skills with a flexible and open attitude
21. The ability to support a team with good collaboration skills
22. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently
