Senior Clinical Pharmacist – Oncology – Thornbury Hospital
Join Circle Health Group as a Senior Clinical Pharmacist in the private oncology service at Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield. This full‑time role is 37.5 hrs/week with flexible shifts.
Salary: Up to £55,000.00 per year (dependent on experience, training and qualification)
Overview
As a key pharmacist in the private oncology service, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy input, lead medicines optimisation and support the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert clinical pharmacy input as part of the multidisciplinary team, conducting medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
* Optimise medicines use through evidence-based interventions, ensuring the safe and effective management of long‑term and acute conditions.
* Lead on implementation of medicines optimisation strategies, ensuring prescribing is cost‑effective, safe, and aligned with national/local guidelines.
* Act as the lead pharmacist for designated specialties or clinical areas, working closely with consultants, nurses, and AHPs.
* Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to junior pharmacists, pre‑registration trainees, and pharmacy technicians.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal frameworks including GPhC, CQC, MHRA, and controlled drugs legislation.
Qualifications & Experience
* GPhC‑registered Pharmacist.
* Significant post‑registration experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a hospital setting.
* Strong clinical knowledge and experience in medicines optimisation.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
* Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff.
