Overview
South Lakes Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) look for a qualified Band 6 Mental Health Nurse. The role requires registration with a professional regulating body and offers a permanent 37.5 hour contract. The successful candidate may be required to work in either the Non‑Psychosis Service Line or the Psychosis Service Line and undertake CMHT tasks as required.
Responsibilities
* Act as a Care Coordinator: manage a caseload of service users with complex needs, develop care plans, deliver evidence‑based interventions and treatments, and manage risks in the community.
* Serve as a team duty worker: manage unplanned patient work within the team, respond to escalation of risk/crisis situations, and triage new referrals.
* Assume leadership activities, including contributing to the learning and development of junior team members and leading or contributing to projects identified by the South Lakes CMHT leadership team.
Qualifications
* Registered with a professional regulating body (e.g., Nursing).
* Previous or current experience in a mental health setting.
* Clinical confidence working with individuals with complex needs and ability to work effectively in a multi‑professional context.
* Strong communication skills, flexible, adaptable and proactive approach.
* Collaborative and enthusiastic approach, passion for promoting recovery‑based approaches for adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.
Working Hours & Location
Permanent 37.5 hour contract, core hours 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Out of hours and weekend work may be required. The service is based at Kirkstone House, Oxenholme Road, Kendal.
