About the Organisation
Our client is a well-established professional services firm known for taking a modern, forward-thinking approach to audit, tax and advisory work. They focus on long-term growth, collaborative partnerships and creating an environment where their people can genuinely thrive. With more than 5,000 employees in the UK and a network spanning over 150 countries, the firm is on a significant growth journey and they are now seeking a senior actuarial leader to join their expanding team in London.
The Role
The Actuarial & Risk practice supports a broad mix of financial services clients, with general insurance at its core, but also extending into life insurance, health, banking and other non-traditional sectors. The team is known for delivering bespoke, commercially practical actuarial solutions.
Our client is looking for a General Insurance Actuarial Director to take a leading role in delivering complex advisory work, including capital modelling, model validation, Solvency UK support, reserving, transaction-related work and Independent Expert assignments. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time or job-share options, will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
As Director, you will:
* Lead capital modelling and model validation projects across Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s clients.
* Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs, clear stakeholder communication and robust risk management.
* Support the development and coaching of junior team members, helping them progress and perform effectively.
* Contribute to business development by nurturing internal and external relationships and helping take the firm’s capital and model validation offerings to market.
Experience & Skills Required
Our client is seeking an individual with significant general insurance actuarial experience, particularly with strong capital modelling expertise.
Additional advantageous experience includes:
* Part VII transfer involvement
* Lloyd’s Statements of Actuarial Opinion
* Understanding of the Solvency II / Solvency UK Standard Formula
* Experience generating or supporting business development activity
Candidates who meet most but not all criteria are still encouraged to apply — development and support will be provided.
Culture & Benefits
Our client promotes a culture that values individuality, open communication and collaborative working. You will have direct access to senior leaders and the freedom to bring your own ideas and strengths to the role. Flexibility is embedded into the working culture, supporting balance and wellbeing.
Employees also have opportunities to contribute beyond core work, including secondments, community engagement and global development initiatives.
Who They’re Looking For
Individuals who are proactive, commercially aware and able to challenge the status quo will thrive in this environment. Our client wants someone who can bring fresh insight, drive high standards and deliver meaningful impact for clients and colleagues alike.
