PMO Manager – Governance & Assurance
Chiswick – London (Hybrid working 1-2 days a week onsite)
About the role
As a PMO Manager you will ensure that all BSI projects and programmes are planned accurately, are managed in accordance with BSI standards and processes for project, programme and portfolio governance and that resources are assigned, tracked and managed throughout the delivery lifecycle.
This is a full time, permanent opportunity within our Group IT function.
Responsibilities:
1. Support the Head of Portfolio Management Office by enabling visibility of overall portfolio including all respective initiatives, programmes, projects and associated KPIs.
2. Continuously improve the PMO procedures and processes including framrworks, templates in line with industry best practice.
3. Manage and mentor a team of PMO Analysts.
4. Ensure all projects and programmes are set up for success with the correct level of scrutiny of resource and budget estimates.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance to wider programme teams and business leads on how to plan and prepare projects based on Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC).
6. Work with wider programme team to ensure implementation of milestone levelling and appropriate levels of assurance.
7. Audit projects and programmes to ensure adherence to the SDLC and BSI’s project management methodology.
8. Support development and implementation of reporting across the portfolio, in particular resource demand forecasting.
9. Work with Finance to maintain processes and standards for project and programme budgeting and accounting.
10. Establish and maintain portfolio level reporting and governance.
11. Champion automatic and tooling in the drive to determine and single version of the truth throughout the delivery lifecycle.
12. Track and deliver regular project/programme interventions such as health checks and audit when required.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
13. Experience working in a structured PMO framework.
14. High level of experience in a maturing PMO function.
15. Prince 2, PMO or P3O qualifications.
16. Knowledge of project management tools and technique (resource demand management, governance and assurance).
17. Line management, mentoring and coaching experience.
18. High level of experience in a maturing PMO function.
19. Experience rolling out delivery frameworks and championing the value that brings.
20. Clear, strong verbal and written communication skills.
