Training and Organisational Development (OD) Specialist (home based with occasional travel)

Due to changes within the team, we are seeking a proactive people focused permanent and full time Training and OD Specialist to join our small but sort of perfectly formed People Team consisting of a friendly, diverse range of fellow people practitioners. We have a lot to do and are looking for someone who shares our passion but has their own ideas and is happy to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. We need someone who can comfortably move between operational tasks to strategic projects and can contribute to OD, learning, employee engagement, wellbeing and culture.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience in training, learning and development or OD. Formal and vocational qualifications in training, coaching or mentoring would be advantageous but not essential, it’s more about the person and what they can bring to the role. Strong communication skills, creativity, resilience and a commitment to driving positive changes and improvements are key.
The role will involve a wide range of activities and projects including:
* To partner with key internal people including managers and networking groups to assess training needs and demands.
* Stakeholder management of our Learning Management Systems provider and key training providers and being the point of contact internally.
* To lead on OD initiatives especially relating to engagement, culture, wellbeing and EDI.
* To revamp our induction programme.
* To support and enable our new Aspiring Managers Programme.
* To take a lead on the appraisal and performance management process to aim for a high completion and engagement rate.
* To design, deliver and arrange training, this can vary from sourcing and booking venues to facilitating a group of delegates.
* To maintain our statutory compliance training and annual plan.
* To evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and generate reports to support continuous improvement.
* To co-ordinate and evaluate learning events and maintain accurate records.
* To ensure training materials meet high-quality standards through internal and external collaboration.
* To share insights and promote industry best practices through ongoing professional development.
Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours per week, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, standard office hours 9am to 5pm however with flexibility.
Location: Home based with occasional travel to Birmingham and Stevenage Offices and to visit client sites nationwide
