Are you an experienced Estimator with a strong background in drylining? A leading construction group who specialises in drylining is looking for a talented individual to join their commercial team as a stand-alone Estimator, supporting projects across the UK based out of the Leicester office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a well-established group handling a wide variety of drylining projects, ranging from smaller special works (£50K-£500K) to major schemes valued between £2M and £10M. The team currently includes a Managing, Senior and two Trainee Estimators. One team member is relocating overseas and will depart in October, so there\'s time for a smooth handover, but the role is available immediately for the right person.
As a first-principles Estimator, you\'ll be expected to build rates from scratch and price work for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors (schools, public sector, etc.). The business uses On Centre for take-off and their own bespoke system, for pricing. You\'ll have access to existing pricing templates, but your expertise in drylining and problem-solving will be key.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates from first principles for drylining packages
* Manage take-offs using On Centre software
* Price projects independently, liaising with clients and Tier 1/Tier 2 contractors
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and support junior team members
* Build and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on quality and detail
What We\'re Looking For
* Proven experience as an Estimator in drylining
* Ability to build rates from scratch without reliance on standard libraries
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Detail-oriented, with a proactive and problem-solving approach
* Office-based five days a week (flexibility on remote working during PM meetings)
